Manière des Bohémiens play improvised Django Reinhardt, Stephane Grappelli influenced Gypsy Jazz and Eastern European swing. They are the most debauched, ecstatic and downright amazing live band you will have seen for a long while.

Gypsy jazz played with the jaunty abandon of a misspent youth, an abusive PE teacher and a broken heart and arranged for 6 young virtuoso musicians who travel around playing the violin, guitar, double bass and accordion whilst dipping in and out of Parisian alleyways and absorbing pieces of the colourful lives they meet along the way.

Their debut 5 track EP is a shiny gem amongst the dirge of mainstream releases that captures the essence of their live shows perfectly and will get you swinging from the rafters and bouncing off the walls. Listen, enjoy, imagine and dance.

Formed through a mutual love of sitting on sofas and improvising, Maniére des Bohémiens spent many hours working together on the distinctive swing sound and many more on learning the melodies and developing them through improvisation.

The word of mouth galvanising this band has been phenomenal and since their first big gig in October last year (2010) and their following has grown resulting in packed out gigs left right and centre. They get people on their feet and have been attracting many ‘Lindy Hop' dancers who turn up, do their thing and get the dance floor moving!
Previous gigs include headline slots all over town (Nottingham) including three large local festivals and they play regularly in top Nottingham venues including Nottingham Contemporary, the Bodega, the Rescue Rooms, the Malt Cross and the Hand & Heart. They've also had recent support slots for Polar Bear and Quantic.

They've been played on 6 music several times and have been included on Tom Robinson's 'best of Introducing' podcast. They have also played the BBC introducing stage at last years (2010) Hockley Hustle. Manière des Bohémiens continue to play regularly, gaining new followers as they go and introducing improvised gypsy-jazz to a new, younger generation. Their Album 'When the Road Bends' was out on 6th June and they had their hugely successful album launch party at Nottingham Contemporary on sat 28th May. Their EP/album can be found in top independent record stores or available digitally from most download sites, also on sale at gigs. Manière des Bohémiens are available to do gigs at pubs, bars, cafes, festivals, busking spots, executions, bris milahs, etc...
